It hardly seems six months have passed since the 20th anniversary Volvo Masters was held at Valderrama. The planning phase for the 21st Volvo Masters is underway. It is once again the climax of the European Tour and will be held at Valderrama from 30th October – 2nd November 2008.

The reigning champion Justin Rose has already confirmed he will be defending his title. The event takes place less than 50 days after the 37th Ryder Cup and the sponsors are hopeful that the whole European Team will play the Volvo Masters, ideally with the Ryder Cup secured for an unprecedented fourth successive time. The prize fund this year has been increased from €4million to a record €4.25million, the champion’s share going up to €708,000 making the 2008 Volvo Masters Champion the first million-dollar man in the history of the event.
