Opened in October 2006, Finca Cortesin is one of the newer editions to the Costa del Sol golfing scene and is located in the district of Casares, which is between Marbella and Sotogrande. It is only 40 minutes from Malaga airport and 20 minutes from Gibraltar, so it is ideally situated in the heart of the Costa del Sol golf scene and central for all the required amenities. The course, which was designed by Cabell Robinson, has a privileged location and offers superb views over the Mediterranean and African coastlines from every angle, as well as the local mountains. Unlike a lot of the recent, newer courses, construction does not catch your eyesight and interfere with your game of golf. This means there is ample room for every hole to be located in a natural environment.
The main feature is the length of the course at nearly 7,000 metres from the black tees, becoming one of the longest in Europe. Another feature is the great variety of natural vegetation, which include olive and cork trees. There are five par 3's, eight par 4's and five par 5's, with all 18-holes being unique with their own identification. The 13th is rated as one of the top18 holes in Andalucia. It is a very enjoyable course to play for all standards, with wide Bermuda grass fairways, beautifully shaped bunkers that enjoy white, marble sand and tee boxes of high quality. The greens are without doubt the jewel in the crown and have the quality to be extremely fast with subtle brakes.
Along with the golf, Finca Cortesin also offers one of the best hotels in Europe, which includes a Spa and the entire complex is managed with environmentally friendly procedures. The area is a must for an enjoyable golfing break, with courses such as Flamingos, Dona Julia and Estepona also on the doorstep.

There is ample parking on arrival and another unique feature is the use of the practice range with balls, is included in your green fee. There is a Jack Nicklaus golf academy, with a learning method personally developed by Jack, based on matching the swing with the player. The clubhouse offers full changing facilities, with a high level of quality for all your food and refreshments. There is a fully equipped pro shop and buggies are available, which may be advisable, particularly in the hotter months.
