In last month’s e-news we asked you to make a note in your diary as we were planning a few days away for August Bank holiday. This has now been finalised and there are places available for anyone who is interested in joining us from the 25th August until 28th August, where we will be staying at the superb 4-star Hotel Barrosa Park at Novo Sancti Petri, which is a beautiful coastal spot, readily accessible on the Costa de la Luz
This package includes:-
- 3 nights accommodation with half board and 2 rounds of golf
Price per person is GBP 310 for a golfer and GBP 225 for a non-golfer sharing a double room. For a single room, the cost for a golfer is GBP 370, including 2 rounds of golf.
Children are more than welcome and there are family rooms and junior suites available. Further details are available on request.
Saturday 26th August will be a practice round at Novo Sancti Petri and Sunday 27th will be the main tournament event at Dehesa, which is sponsored by Renson Management. Congratulations to Josh Hunter receiving the Gala Casino trophy from Kevin Castle at Montecastillo. Josh is the youngest ever winner of a Med Golf tournament at just 12 years old and he was particularly pleased as he beat his dad John in to second place!
Also congratulations to Geoff Watchorn receiving the Smarties Bar trophy from Trevor Hyiatt at Santana Golf Club.

Estepona Golf sponsor the Med Golf rankings and it is fitting they provide the venue for our season’s final event on the 30th July, which will decide the player of the year and who will win the 12-month membership, which is valued at 1400 euros and includes unlimited golf. There is also the small matter of an invite to the Med Golf Masters at Valderrama in November for the winner and top senior and leading at the moment are Dan Aldridge and Denny To respectively.

Med Golf is proud that some of our finest junior golfers are beginning to shine, with Josh Hunter winning at Montecastillo and Dan Aldridge leading the way for the player of the year title. At the other end of the scale we have some excellent “mature” golfers who are wonderful supporters of all our tournaments and regularly participate and socialise with other players, as well as winning the occasional prize. One such player is Gary Chant, who over the past few months has improved considerably and has been winning our “star quality ” award consistently. This award is for the best stableford competition score off maximum handicap but we are pleased to say his time is now up! At Santana he scored an excellent 39 points and missed out on winning the Smarties Bar trophy and a Valderrama invitation by a mere 1 point. This means he will surely receive a handicap cut when all our computer calculations are made and therefore be excluded from the maximum handicap category in the future.
Well done Gary but we feel sure Linda will be happy with the supply of glass trophies she already has! Good luck and you know we appreciate your support.
