Situated just off the white sands of the Atlantic and the 9km of unspoilt beach
at La Barrossa. A magnificent setting 24km from Cadiz and 40km from Jerez.
The whole area is a new concept in tourist development and the region is authentic
Spain in the heart of Andalucia with its sherry and bodegas, flamenco, bulls and
horses, white villages, spas and natural parks to keep you occupied when you
are not golfing.
On arrival you will find a magnificent clubhouse with large rooms, bar facilities,
terraced areas and an a la carte restaurant. The changing facilities are first
class with well-equipped shower facilities and a sauna to relax in. There is a
well-stocked pro shop and the club has 10 PGA qualified golf professionals
running a very successful golf academy. You can enjoy group tuition or a one
to one basis. There is a large practice area with space for 70 people as well
as putting and pitching greens.
As for the course itself it is an extremely pleasant and easy walk but buggies
can be hired if required. Only soft spikes can be worn. The course offers beautiful
combinations of holes for players of all levels. Any 18 hole combination has a
par of 72 and a Standard Scratch Score of 74 for blue and white tees and one of
72 for red and yellow tees. The 6th hole is the most spectacular with the
undulating green reaching out to the sandy beach. There are holes where you
can open your shoulders and test your woods but others where you have to be
wary of the water hazards, abundant vegetation and bunkers. There are marker
posts to the green for 150m (red markers) and 100m(yellow markers) In one round
the fairways are bordered by pine tress but in the other you are looking at
magnificent views of the Atlantic. Hit the ball straight and enjoy yourself but
beware the "ocean breeze" that can make such a difference!
The original Novo Sancti Petri course was the first course in Spain designed
by Seve Ballesteros and inaugurated in 1990. The course now offers 54 holes
which are divided into three rounds of 18 holes (Mar-Pinos, Centro and Campano).
In mid-November Golf Novo Sancti Petri opened their third round Campano as
18-hole course, becoming one of the biggest golf resorts in Spain.
By 2006, the original idea to complete the 18 hole first class championship course by building the 9 missing holes was taken up again and finally realized. The new 9 holes were opened in March 2007 and at the same time the existing 9 holes were closed for a complete renovation. By that time, Golf Novo Sancti Petri took over the management of Campano. A spacious club house was constructed, including a nice and modern restaurant with terrace overlooking the 1st tee and a new Pro-Shop was built.
The course measures 5.815 mts. from the yellow tees and strikes by his lush vegetation. The first 9 holes are designed as a smooth und nearly flat park land course surrounded by wonderful chalets of the "San Andres" housing complex. It is necessary to hit the ball long and precise to avoid the conflict with the water hazards and the pine trees. On the second round you can find a lot of olive trees and three big lakes. Large and undulating greens are a big challenge for all players. All in all a championship course for all levels, the design is perfect for professionals as well as for amateurs. The saying: "Difficult Par, but easy Bogey" has been translated throughout the design of the course.
Campano Golf, situated in the housing complex of " San Andres" near Chiclana de la Frontera, was inaugurated in 1985 as a 9 hole golf course. Over 15 years the course was rather unknown like a hidden jewel. Why a jewel? The original design was made by no one less than Robert Trent Jones senior, the best known golf course designer of all times. He left his traces at all 5 continents of this world. Here in Spain the best known are: Real Golf de Sotogrande, Las Brisas, Marbella Golf and of course Valderrama.
The three courses of Golf Novo Sancti Petri are only a short drive away from the Costa del Sol. Enjoy 54 holes of pure golf pleasure - at special rates during the winter - discover it!
Novo Sancti Petri welcomes visitors and you should
book in advance through
Med Golf as the course can get busy. Growing demand for golf in the area means
that several new excellent courses have emerged and many golfers are taking
advantage of this by enjoying breaks here. Med Golf would be more than happy
to put together a package for you. Novo Sancti Petri is certainly well worth
a visit and highly recommended by Med Golf.
