Description
La Quinta Golf and Country Club consists of 27 holes situated in what is known as "The Golf Valley" and commands the best panoramic views of the mountains and Marbella coastline. On a clear day the scenery is quite stunning.

Opened in 1989 it was designed by the Spanish Ryder Cup players Antonio Garrido and Manuel Pinero and it is also a popular place to play by other visiting Spanish professionals such as Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal particularly as Manuel Pinero has his golf academy here. Each of the nine holes can be combined to make the eighteen and whatever the combination the course will present a challenge to even the most able golfer. Apparently some say it is easy but it is in fact quite demanding due to the winding and narrow fairways together with the undulating terrain. The greens are always of excellent quality and considered some of the best on the coast. Since it first opened La Quinta has replaced several holes on the original course to bring them up to modern standards. A successful round here requires accuracy to avoid the many trees, water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. However, you will find the whole setup and condition of the course very gratifying and a joy to play.

La Quinta is developing a reputation as one of the most popular courses on the Costa del Sol and plays host to many prestigious Pro-Am events. Make sure you contact Med Golf to book your tee time to avoid disappointment when you play here.

On arrival you will find ample parking facilities and perhaps the best equipped clubhouse on the coast. It offers excellent changing facilities as well as a well-stocked pro shop. After your round you can enjoy the restaurant or simply enjoy a drink on the terrace and admire the views. You can get tuition here at the Manuel Pinero golf academy either individually or in group lessons. There are packages ranging from 2 day to 5day golfing schools with something to suit every body's requirements. Otherwise there is a practice area, three putting greens and a pitch and putt area. It is advisable to take advantage of the buggies on offer in view of the undulating terrain that can be stamina-sapping particularly in the warmer weather.

The 5 star hotel, The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort is located within the La Quinta Golf and Country Club and is only minutes away from the famous Puerto Banus and Marbella where you can enjoy the legendary night life. The hotel has everything you would expect from five stars and each room has its own private balcony and air conditioning amongst several other features. This is luxury at its best and you are really made to feel welcome here. Malaga international airport is only 35 minutes away and on arrival you will see this is an idyllic spot to enjoy a welcome holiday or golfing break so why not let Med Golf organise this for you. The whole hotel and complex is "highly recommended" and you certainly won't be disappointed with the La Quinta experience.
